Scottish Shortbread

Ingredients :

  • 2 1/2 cups butter
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup corn starch

Directions:

  1. Leave butter in a room tempture about an hour.
  2. Mix all-purpose flourand corn starch together.\
  3. Cream butter and sugar. Add flour mixed at direction2 and knead until all ingredients are well mixed.
  4. Put dough in a clean plastic bag and rest dough in a fridge for 40 minutes.  
  5. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).                         
  6. Roll to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into 3x1 inch strips. Prick with fork and place on ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes. 
*It is very fragile right after baked. Cool down well before take short bread out from baking sheet.
